WORLD:  McFaul May Remember that he needs to Present his Credentials First

Updated: 01/27 09:08

Soon after his arrival in Moscow, McFaul met with a number of opposition figures at the U.S. Embassy last Tuesday, irking the Kremlin. (Link)

“In all likelihood, he [McFaul] will soon bring me his credentials,” Medvedev said, adding that “these credentials will naturally be accepted.”

U.S. President Barack Obama had informally agreed McFaul’s candidacy with him, Medvedev said.

“I hope that he [McFaul] will do a good job but of course he needs to realize that he is working in the Russian Federation, not in the United States of America, and that our country has its specifics, just as any ambassador has his mandate,” he said.

“I’ll leave everything else without comment,” Medvedev added.

Hmm! Everyday McFaul is looking more like he is trying to dupe Russia and Russia is on him like a fly on stink…

Remember that I said in the article the other day that McFaul is hiding in the American Embassy after he got called on the carpet for his sneaky crap…

Looks like a humbling trip to the Kremlin is needed and an apology is definitely needed…

But hey! He has met with the Russian political opposition and political opposition media. But he forgot to make his appointment official in Russia. If he keeps it up he may not be accepted…

The message is out, that talking with Medvedev may be a good idea for a future in Russia…

Do you think he wanna go home?

WORLD:  Putin – U.S. foreign policy doctrine. They want to control everything

Updated: 01/26 09:09

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin accused the United States of attempts to dominate the world and challenging internal political procedures in other countries as a tool for achieving that goal.

He spoke about foreign policy at the end of his meeting with Tomsk students that lasted about 3.5 hours on Wednesday, January 25. One of them asked Putin what could be the reasons for the negative Western reaction to the parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan.

“The reason is the U.S. foreign policy doctrine. They want to control everything… sometimes I have the impression that the United States does not need allies, that it needs vassals,” the prime minister said.

“They are not prepared to cooperate on equal terms either with Europe or us. Cooperation on equal terms means determining threats together and working out a system of response to them together. They reject that flatly,” he said, referring to the missile defense system the U.S. is building in Europe.

According to Putin, one of the American ways to influence other countries is to “doubt everything and say that you do not meet certain standards” but “they (America) works out these standards themselves”.

The Russian authorities are ready to cooperate with public organizations in the country but will not allow them to turn into a tool for external influence, Putin said.

“An attempt to use our non-governmental organizations by foreign states in their own interests for securing their own foreign policy goals with regard to our country must entail rejection. This must not be allowed to happen,” he said.

“The authorities must respond and listen, no matter what they say and how abuse their language may be. It’s indecent, but all the same [we] must listen to them,” Putin said. “The only thing we must not allow is allowing anyone to use anything inside the country for achieving their own foreign policy goals with regard to our country.”

Speaking of the elections in Kazakhstan, he recalled that the number of parties represented in the national parliament has increased from one to three. “That’s a step forward. That’s good,” he said.

WORLD:  Death of the Petrodollar by non world usage

Updated: 01/25 18:28

That American backed financial destruction of Iran theme, only gets weaker when one learns that Iran is dumping the dollar $ in its trade with Russia for rials and rubles, Then it shudders some more as we realize that it is a similar move to ones already made in its trade with China and Japan. As for India, its also refuses to stop buying Iranian oil and thumbed it’s nose at the USA, by trading gold for oil. India incidentally is already using the yuan with China in trade. As Russia and China have also been trading in rubles and yuan for more than a full year and Japan and China are now promoting direct trading in yen and yuan. Then to ice the cake, Iran and China, have agreed that all new trade and joint investments will be settled in yuan and rial. The East is inter trading and bartering as the dollar is becoming worthless. Other Eastern countries will join the parade as the dollar backed by the US sinks into the sunset…

The dollar will not do well when only the US wants and has dollars. If the world demands payment in other forms of goods and currencies then the dollar becomes past tense. The dollar ’s strengths only lies in its use and acceptance as a world currency…

This is not the stuff that your news is made up of. Your news is made up to order for you by the government of America to guide you in your thoughts on the world…

The main fact of this article is that: India has reportedly agreed to pay Tehran in gold for the oil it buys, in a move aimed at protecting Delhi from US-sanctions targeting countries who trade with Iran. China, another buyer of Iranian oil, may follow Delhi’s lead. This just opens the door for Russia to take payment for oil in gold also…

That with more and more banks in the world switching what they use as a main currency or refusing to hold the approved dollar denomination in account according to what is expected by the USA. Makes for a very shaky future if you covet the US dollar. Most transactions with dollars are now short term, make quick money and unstable flows of currency that moves by huge volumes daily looking for a real home to settle at. There is so many excess dollars in the world that one day they are all going to float up on the shores of America and then what is America going to do to cover all that cash?

It looks to me that America is pushing the EU into the same position that India, China, Japan and Russia are doing. To do business with countries like Iran and such. They have to send the dollar away and use more reasonably backed methods to pay. They have to exclude the dollar because America has put so many stipulations on its use that usage is becoming a hassle. That does not point to a good future for the dollar. It may be king now but every country that uses another currency or commodity to deal and trade, are taking the foundation out from under the dollar and once that foundation weakens too much, the building will fall…

TECH:  Russians have a place to sound off now: Compliments of Medvedev

Updated: 01/23 10:03

President Medvedev’s supporters from Russia’s Big Government launched a new site late Friday -Rossiyabezdurakov.rf. (Russia without fools) where visitors can report any absurd or simply stupid bureaucratic decisions…

http://россиябездураков.рф/ is the site. If you are English speaking and wish to see what it is about, use Google translation. I tried it to see if the site would translate and it did with no problem. There is some interesting things on there, Some are just plain worthless and shows that people all over the world will complain about nothing. But some of them show how stupid things are in Russia just like they are in America…

One example: Someone wrote, “Asphalt is placed on the snow in my urban community. My question – how long it will last?” I had to laugh and think about the American joke we have about when we see workers on the highways and byways. You find it is common to see one guy working and 12 guys standing and watching. I have seen guys lay asphalt on two to three inches of hard pack snow in the middle of winter before in my lifetime… :)

I saw some really good statements and the comments are coming in at a fast pace. They are being looked at before they are posted, due to trolls and such. No cussing, hate and racist attitude will be allowed. I think that it is a good thing and it is a better thing to allow Russians a chance to voice their opinion. I just hope someone listens…

Fore some reason I think they will…

TECH:  “The Internet is freer in Russia than in the West!”: says Communications Minister Igor Shchyogolev

Updated: 01/20 14:43

MOSCOW, January 20 (Itar-Tass) — No Internet censorship will be imposed in Russia, Communications Minister Igor Shchyogolev assured in his article published in the Vedomosti newspaper site on Friday. In the article, he commented on the scandal bill under consideration in the United States on protection of intellectual property in the Internet (SOPA).

Major Internet representatives Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Twitter, Mozilla and eBay oppose the bill, according to which, any participant in Internet activities, from providers to searchers and even advertisers, at any request of the right possessor, must stop cooperation and not to provide services for the resource accused of piracy. Moreover, the draft law allows blocking sites in the United States and any resources to which the country’s citizens have access. It is 99 percent of the entire Internet.

The SOPA adoption will not only have a negative effect on the development of the Internet as a business space, but in fact can become an instrument of censorship, which is contrary to democratic principles, Shchyogolev noted.

All proposals on the on-line space, protection of the interests of right possessors or fight against children pornography are discusses with Internet experts, he said. It is impossible to block or censor the Internet, otherwise it will lose its essence, he noted.

The Internet is freer in Russia than in the West, the minister believes.

There is a view that the Russian government allegedly seeks to have more state control over the Internet. But the possibility to block the access to Twitter or Facebook in case of social unrest is even not considered in the country, while some European countries have openly said they will use the measure.

All states together should regulate the global network, Shchyogolev said. Not all countries are ready to sign such a convention on the Internet space as a legally-binding document.

States that will join the code of behavior will assume obligations to cooperate in the fight against criminal and terrorist activities with the use of informational telecommunication technologies, including networks, the minister said.

TECH:  Anonymous calls it the single largest Internet attack in its history, and it crippled the biggest sites for the US government and entertainment industry

Updated: 01/20 09:07

Yesterday was a ride and a half. This time our site was down but not because anyone was after Windows to Russia for once. This time it was the reverse effect and what an effect it had. I felt sorry for our host after I realized what was happening. It was not their fault that huge American companies use them as an offshore hosting to try to get around the USA censorship…

But lets get to the real story:

Federal agents executed a crackdown on the files sharing website Megaupload on Thursday. The response, you could say, was not minor.

Authorities attest that Megaupload, at one point the fifteenth most popular site on the Web, was guilty of costing copyright holders upwards of $500 million in lost revenues because users of the service can easily and freely upload and distribute pirated material. Four people were arrested in New Zealand Thursday as part of the sting, which also yielded the site going offline.

Given that Megaupload boasts an audience of 500 million users daily, a reaction was expected. Only minutes after the Web began digesting the news, that response came by way of thousands of upset users, many aligned to the online collective Anonymous.

The attack started swift and strong and only grew. First fell the website the US Department of Justice, justice.gov. Next was the site for Universal Music Group, a SOPA supporter and the largest record label in America.

Over the course of a few hours, hacktivists involved with the loose knit group Anonymous waged attacks on site after site, and before long the web presence for the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), Broadcast Music, Inc., or BMI, and finally FBI were down.

Anonymous calls it the single largest Internet attack in its history, and it crippled the biggest sites for the US government and entertainment industry.

To those close to Thursday’s campaign, it not only was a necessity but it was only the first step in a battle that’ll continue for a while to come.

“Obviously, this couldn’t have come at a worse time in terms of the government’s standpoint,” Barrett Brown says calmly from Texas. Speaking to RT from Dallas, the founder of Project PM and frequent Anonymous collaborator says that it is a terrible case of happenstance that federal agents went after Megaupload only hours after the thousands of sites protesting in an anti-SOPA blackout went back online. Web surfers were by-and-far ready to defend an open Internet, and Brown says that the feds “could not have chosen a worst time to take down Megaupload.”

“It was in retaliation for Megaupload,” he says of the attack, which involved thousands of operatives going after numerous sites linked to both the federal government and entertainment industry.

“There are a number of targets, high profile targets, that were taken down,” says Brown. In addition to the sites for the FBI, RIAA, the DoJ and BMI, other assaults were launched against the official site for the White House.

Brown says that the assault will continue though, regardless of the outcome that will befall on SOPA and PIPA in Congress. Speaking of the raid on Megaupload, he tells RT that it illustrates that, “Even without SOPA having been passed yet, the federal government always had tremendous power to do some of the things that they want to do. So if this is what can occur without SOPA being passed, imagine what can occur after SOPA is passed,” he asks.

Brown says that Congress and the feds are not going to give up anytime soon, but their opponents, Anonymous and others, are even more ready for battle.

“This is a war they plan on fighting until the end and so do we,” says Brown.

And according to him, it will only get messier.

“We can expect a great deal of havoc of the sort we saw today. We’re going to see it in a stepped up fashion,” he says. Brown tells RT that it only took 70 minutes for the #OpMegaupload campaign to take hold online and take down the website for the DoJ. As more realize that the fight against SOPA and similar legislation is a fight worth taking sides for, he thinks it will only grow in intensity.

Eventually, says Brown, those advocating for a free Internet will come out on top. Victory, he says, will be an end to any bills in the Senate that have the intent of restricting Web use. “There will be new bills,” says Brown, “that will specifically seek to stop these sorts of things.”

“It’s going to be impossible for us, within just a few weeks, a few days, to prevent any more of these bills to go forward and to prevent things like Megaupload from being raided,” says Brown, “but we can get to that point and it’s a number of steps.”

Those steps, he adds, will lay the groundwork for another mission, an operation going under the banner of #OpDonkeyPunch. With that initiative, says Brown, the Congressman that think that they can support SOPA and keep the dirty industry money handed over by lobbyists will be made an example of.

“Their standpoint is that they’re’ not going to get any retaliation…Now we stand to change that,” says Brown.

*** Remember that car company I told you was on our server also? The big car company? Well our whole hosting company was crashed because of hosting several big American companies websites. This is going to get serious and I am for what is right and the government is not the one that is right…

I will be glad to be knocked off line for a good reason and it was a good reason…

WORLD:  The Russian Chicken is Getting to be a World Chicken…

Updated: 01/19 09:09

Russia can export up to 250,000 tons of poultry meat on foreign markets in 2012 and Russia is planning to bring this figure to 400,000 tonnes by 2015. All the while keeping the domestic market saturated at the same time with home grown chicken…

This is a bold statement from a country just a few years ago that had to import chicken by the tons to met demand. But as I have said in several articles. Sveta and I have seen huge chicken farms springing up all over the place as we travel Russia to our village…

As with the influx of money into the grain business in Russia, so has money been imputed in vast amounts in the poultry industry. It has paid off and it looks like Russia has become self sufficient in Poultry now. That is going to make America cry because the American poultry industry has dumped poor quality chicken on Russia for many years…

I find at the stores in Moscow, that you do not see the famous fat huge American chickens hardly anymore. The Russian chicken tastes better and cooks up so much leaner. That makes a difference…

Try these past articles:
http://windowstorussia.com/the-chicken-never-leaves-the-news-in-russia.html
http://windowstorussia.com/no-frozen-chicken-says-russia.html
http://windowstorussia.com/putin-talks-chicken.html

http://windowstorussia.com/bad-move-russia-lifts-chicken-ban-on-america.html
http://windowstorussia.com/once-again-russia-and-america-play.html

So Russia has gone from one of the largest poultry importers in the world to a poultry exporter. That is what I like about Russia…

As you can see this is a subject that I follow on Windows to Russia. So it should be no surprise when I say: “Russia does not need that disgusting, fat, bad for you and antibiotic fed chicken from America…”

PS: I know chicken is dropping in price now. I just paid 75 rubles total price for a whole bird and it weighed over 1.25 kilos. That is lots of good eating…

WORLD:  Interesting Happening: Moscow needs people to leave the City Center

Updated: 01/17 09:05

This is interesting: Moscow’s government is trying to reduce the city’s internal population by about 25%. They will do this by encouraging people to move out of the city. The Mayor has promised that no one will be forced to move though if they do not want to…

On January 1, 2011, Moscow’s population was officially 11.552 million, the city has almost exhausted its resources and the pressure on its transport, environment and the social sector is too intense. So to put the city right, it is necessary to remove people from the city, especially its historical center, where 35+ percent of jobs are concentrated. With the projected growth of the Moscow population (resident and visiting) it is necessary to reduce it by 8.5-9 million people, i.e., to settle over 2.5 million Muscovite’s in the surrounding territory called the Moscow region. The capital should have no more than 1 million people (currently there is 6.3 million working in the center) with jobs, and the Moscow region create 1.5 million more jobs. Then the need to figure out how to stop the influx of visiting people for business each day needs to be addressed. The idea being floated around does not give all the details. But the prospect for the annexing of more land to Moscow in the amount of 150,000 hectares of land, between the Kiev and Warsaw highways – such towns as Klimovsk, Troitsk and Shcherbinka will be merged with Moscow…

TECH:  Kill the Internet Censorship Bill

Updated: 01/06 09:31

On January 24th the Senate will vote on their version of the internet censorship bill SOPA.  This is our best chance to kill the internet censorship bill.

The problem?  We need 41 Senators to agree not to rush a vote, and right now we’ve got 2.  That’s why we’re asking you to take an unusual step: We need you to request an in-person meeting with your Senators.

Can you ask for an in-person meeting with your Senators? Click here to get started.

Most Senators are home right now for the January recess.  And most–even those who’ve signed on as cosponsors–do not understand these bills and the terrible consequences they’ll have for the internet, the economy, and free speech.  If they’re blindsided by the strength and clarity of our objections, we can bring them over to our side.  The future of the internet depends on it.

If you do get a meeting you won’t be alone– post it to the forums and we’ll organize others to join you.  We can also provide materials and help with preparation.  Leading up to the vote we’ll also be swarming townhall meetings and public appearances, as they’re announced.  But right now, we need to set up these in-person meetings.

Please, click here to ask for a meeting.  We’ve got your back.

We’ve taken the time to ask each Senator’s office the best way to request a meeting.  But we need you to take the plunge– it’ll only take a few minutes.

After you set up your meeting, be sure to share information on the forums. Did you get a date and time for a meeting? Did you learn any other information that will be useful for others trying to set up a meeting?  If you can take on an organizing role, say so.

And please, stay active and keep spreading the word about the need to meet your Senator.  There is an absolute firestorm of news and energy around stopping SOPA/PIPA on the internet, but it’s not always visible to Senators and their staff.

Be visible.  Schedule a meeting. This is our best chance to stop SOPA, and it could be our last.

Thanks for everything you do this month,
–Holmes, Tiffiniy, Donny

P.S. The Reddit community has been an anti-SOPA firestorm.  These meetings are our best hope for beating SOPA, and we think Reddit needs to know about it.  If you agree, help us spread the word on Reddit.
P.P.S. Please use these links to ask your friends to help fill up your local events too.  Everyone needs to know the game plan: schedule meetings, and swarm townhalls.

WORLD:  Russia says: If you can do it we can do it to!

Updated: 01/04 21:25

Gotta love it and right now the Western press is having a cow over what Russia has just done. I have always said that it is a example of the pot calling the kettle black and now the kettle struck back. I mean the Western press is flat out screaming. There are hundreds of articles demeaning Russia about this report they put out and it looks like the report is mainly centered on America and Europe…

Criticizing the United States for double standards, Russia said President  had failed to shut the  at  and accused the White House of sheltering officials and  from

The Foreign Ministry’s report “On the situation with human rights in a host of ,” follows China’s example in highlighting U.S. failings in an attempt to counter U.S. State Department criticism of  abuses…

“The situation in the United States is far from the ideals proclaimed by Washington,” Russia’s foreign ministry said in a 63-page report posted on its www.mid. site. “The main  is the odious prison in Guantanamo Bay.”

“The White House and the Justice Department shelter from prosecution CIA operatives and highly placed officials who are responsible for mass and flagrant  of human rights,” it said…

Every year since 1976, the U.S.  has published a detailed report on the state of human rights in the world, often with scathing analyses of abuses in China and Russia…

Washington scolded Russia for “governmental and societal human rights problems and abuses during the year” in its report published in April…

Russia also criticized European Union countries for the treatment of religious minorities and Britain in particular for breaching human rights in the wake of August’s riots…

The report focused on the United States and European countries, mentioning China only once and then in passing…

I think that this is a good start and that is the same thing that I thought about it when China did the same thing earlier in the year. It is time that the East started to fire back at the West and as long as the Western world plays abusive games let the all members play the same game…

I have to laugh at the response that is happening from the West. They really dislike having someone point out their flaws and tell the world about them…

Of course this is just the start of the end and it is going to get rough at one point in the future…

But as my grandma would have said, “Sauce for a Goose is Sauce for a Gander!”

Sorry America but the world is just not gonna look the other way anymore and if you keep it up, then expect the world to start pushing back harder…

PS: I always say, “Look in the mirror first and fix what you see wrong there before criticizing others!” Looks like Russia and China are tired of being criticized by hypocrites…
